Job Description


Provides leadership and training to an assigned group to ensure a high level of sanitation is maintained in the interior and exterior of Spring Glen Fresh Foods by following the established schedules and guidelines with the primary objective being the timely completion of sanitation while maintaining a food safe facility.


• Knowledge of industrial chemicals and compounds and their proper uses

• Good communication skills

• Thorough understanding of SDS sheets

• Knowledge of PPE requirements, lockout tagout procedures and

confined space


Previous experience working in sanitation (preferably in food processing)

Job Requirements


  1. Is aware of and complies with all GMP and OSHA requirements to perform the essential functions of the job safely.
  1. Responsible for overseeing and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in both the interior and exterior of the Plant
  1. Responsible for overseeing the disassembly, scrubbing, washing, and drying of equipment on a routine basis in accordance with the sanitation schedule.  Also, oversees the environmental sanitizing based on an established schedule.
  1. Adheres to all common safety practices and ensures the assigned group is wearing personal protective equipment and clothing as required
  1. Instructs and trains the assigned group in their work area on proper safety techniques, safe chemical handling, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment, emergency shower and eye wash guidelines and locations, and SDS guidelines and information locations.
  1. Reports any mechanical or safety problems to the Sanitation Supervisor and the Maintenance Department immediately.
  1. Responsible for following and ensuring food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures are adhered to within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to:  GMP’s, food safety, food security, product quality, government requirements, pre-requisite programs, quality systems, plant security, etc.
  1. Informs the Sanitation Supervisor of any problems that may arise
  1. Adheres to plant hygiene standards
  1. Orders all sanitation chemicals
  2. Performs other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor
