BASIC FUNCTION


This position will perform a variety of general labor functions, checks and light maintenance throughout the Freezer Department and assist the maintenance department at time with projects. 



SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY 


Responsible for the freezing of IQF Product and operation of refrigeration equipment to maintain storage freezing. Operating under close supervision is responsible to oversee that product is run at the highest possible volume with little or no out of spec temperatures of finished product. 



SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE 



  • 0-1 years’ experience in an industrial food industry. 

  • 0-1 years’ experience in ammonia refrigeration.

  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language and have general skills to satisfactorily complete job requirements.  

  • Ability to communicate clearly. 

  • Ability to work well with all types of people including fellow employees and management. 

  • Must pay attention to detail and be accurate and efficient in record keeping.

Job Requirements

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES – Refrigeration Technician C: 



  1. Perform consistent checks on equipment recording all pertinent data.

  2. Perform consistent checks on product and its temperature to inform production supervisors and adjust equipment as needed.

  3. Report inconsistencies of equipment readings and or temperature to supervisors.

  4. Defrost equipment when necessary or when specified by supervisor.

  5. Understand the Ammonia Refrigeration Cycle used at Centre Hall location.

  6. Clean machinery and work areas as applicable.

  7. Keep work areas clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.

  8. Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as: GMP’s, food safety, product quality, food security, etc.

  9. Perform various checks and complete paperwork throughout your shift ensuring accuracy and clearly legible hand writing.

  10. Position requires the physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally.

  11. Adheres to all common safety practices and rules; including the wearing of proper PPE.

  12. Ability to attend and pass provided HAZMAT and REFRIGERATION schools as required.

  13. Adheres to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.

  14. Performs other duties as assigned by leads and supervisors
