Venice Maid Foods was started by Lawrence and John Pepper in Vineland, New Jersey in 1929. Originally the company was formed to pack tomato sauces and later added canned pasta and soup to its product line. In 1970 Venice Maid Foods joined a much larger family becoming a Division of Connelly Containers, with a corrugated paper plant in Bla Cynwyd, PA.

In 2004, Venice Maid Foods was purchased by Hanover Foods Corp. and become known as Aunt Kitty's Foods, Inc. The business consists of three basic sales areas: Retail Private Label, Foodservice, and Contract Packing. The retail private label sells products under the brand of major supermarkets in the eastern United States. Foodservice Sales are to companies who distribute to restaurants, schools, and government institutions. Contract packing is produced for several well know national brands.

In 2008, Hanover Foods Corp purchased Castleberry adding additional canned chili, corned beef hash and other products to its growing collection of products.

Aunt Kitty's Foods, Inc. employees more than 100 people at its Vineland site which houses a 260,000-sq. ft. facility on 20 acres of land. Aunt Kitty's Foods, Inc. is an approved USDA facility, Kosher certified, and Organic.
