Job Description

PROCESSOR B 2nd Shift   

WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING AN INDIVIDUAL TO FILL THE POSITION OF PROCESSOR B IN THE CANNING PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT.

SCOPE

While the duties listed below are all encompassing, not all of those duties are performed continually on a regular basis (i.e.: daily, weekly, etc.). The duties performed are dependent on the operation being supported. There are various operations that use Processors B.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates horizontal pressure sterilizing retorts, hydrostatic cooker, fmc sterilimatic cookers under minimum supervision.

Loads and unloads retorts when required.

Sterilizes and cook’s product according to Quality Assurance specifications.

Determines that process indicator paint has been properly applied and verifies that indicator paint has turned color (pink to white) indicating that product has been properly cooked.

Responsible for physically lifting up to 100 pounds as required.

Keeps area clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.

Adheres to common safety practices or rules including the wearing of protective equipment as required.

Adheres to our plant hygiene standards to insure high product integrity.

Should not leave work area unless given permission by Supervisor or Leadperson.

Responsible for execution of food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within

the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMPS’s, HACCP, food safety,

product quality, food security, etc.

Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Leadperson.

The qualified candidate will have previous food processing experience

●  general knowledge of food processing principles

●  good written and verbal communication skills

●  basic math skills

●  ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

●  ability to communicate to Management and co-workers

●  ability to multi-task in a fast paced and challenging environment

●  ability to work in all environments hot and cold

●  ability to work mandatory overtime as required
