SUMMARY OF POSITION

Maximizes prompt and efficient means of distribution, shipping and receiving functions by planning, recommending, and implementing programs and procedures to cost effectively and timely serve our customer’s needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and personnel policies/procedures

• Proven ability to solve problems quickly and effectively

• Working knowledge of CDL/DOT requirements

• CDL required (Class C preferred)

• Knowledge of fleet maintenance

• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)

• Warehouse organization and inventory control



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of product line and sales/distribution territories

• CMS, TeamSuite HR

• Fresh Food cold chain

• Lean Manufacturing training


Job Requirements

  1. Analyzes, determines, and utilizes the most economical and efficient means by which to ship outgoing products to meet customer requirements.
  1. Identifies, investigates, and expediently resolves ad-hoc or systemic problems affecting customer needs (i.e., short shipments/damaged goods, etc.)
  1. Supervises and co-ordinates company employed drivers and routes as well as 3rd party logistics providers.
  1. Ensures adherence to regulatory mandates including but not limited to CDL and DOT requirements.
  1. Identifies and resolves unsafe work practices or hazards and investigate all accidents within department.  Establishes and conducts accident review panel oral incidents to determine disciplinary action requirements.
  1. Ensures ad-hoc and preventative fleet maintenance is performed on a timely basis in a manner least disruptive to product sales and distribution.
  1. Interviews, hires, orients, trains, counsels, reviews performance, recommends wage increase, motivates, and disciplines employees in order to increase skills and job performance in conjunction with established personnel policies and procedures.
  1. Develops operations and capital budget proposals and adheres to approved budgets explaining any variances.
  1. Responsible for being aware of food safety and quality policies within the scope of the job responsibilities, but not limited to:  GMP’s, HACCP, food safety, product quality, food security, government guidelines/requirements, pre-requisite programs, quality systems., etc.
  1. Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with all members of the management team to work within budgetary parameters and control variables.
  1. Organizes and supervises monthly physical inventory.
  1. Manage outside services: cold and dry storage, truck fleet services, forklift fleet services, etc.
  1. Organizes warehouse to optimize space and material handling.
  1. Control storage of allergens.
  1. Organize and provide material handling equipment certification.
  1. Performs any related functions or special assignments as delegated by the General Manager.
